I Can Make a Difference

"I Can Make a Difference"
By: Philip Bowers / Nebraska Youth President

It is a familiar story; one retold at many camps, retreats, youth services, and youth conventions every year. It's a story of seemingly underwhelming resources up against noticeably overwhelming odds. It's the story of David and Goliath. Yet we all know that David found victory when he stood up for the cause of the kingdom.

Bake sales, Move-A-Thons, bike rides, yard sales, etc., all appear to be insignificant ways to make a difference in a world with so many unsaved and untouched lives. David didn't succeed because everyone loves to see the underdog win. David won because he decided he could make a difference.

The spirit of revival says, "I can make a difference". The spirit of giving says, "I can make a difference." The spirit of ministry says, "I can make a difference." Why do you do what you do? Why do you invest in SFC every year? I do it because the spirit of Sheaves for Christ says, "I can help make a difference." I can help make a difference in one foreign missionary's method of travel to spread the Gospel. I can help make a difference in one North American city where a church planter is trying to reach and have a space to worship. I can help make a difference in the life of one addict looking for the freedom only God can give. Investing in Sheaves for Christ allows me to help make a difference in the life of one orphan or troubled teen in need of a safe home with loving adults. Without Sheaves for Christ one of those lives that this mission reaches might end up forever separated from God. Why? The answer is because 1 lost = 2 many.
